Japan has more than 1,000 established beauty contests. Some of them have been held since 1908.
The pageants are big business for sponsors, tv stations, local, prefecture and nation wide audiences.
Miss International Japan, Miss Japan and Miss Universe Japan are the top three.
Last month, 24-year old 170cm (5′7′) Shirata Hisako became Miss International Japan.
Three years before that, the sexy, chubby legged, girl appeared in an R-rated flick as a high school girl who was abducted and used as sex toy. She appeared nude and performed sex bondage scenes.
Judges claim to not have known about her celluloid past. Her handlers say her website is plain to see.
Is Japan lowering her standards? Did judges not do their job or maybe was it the judges just didn’t want to admit to having seen the movie.
