7 Reasons Why It’s The Ideal First Camera - Sony a350 SLR
The SONY a350 SLR is being called the ideal first camera for beginners. That would be me.
It's also a considered a great second camera for seasoned photographers. That would be my wife. She used to take pix for a living. Now she lives to take pix of our new little one. Poor kid.
Sony is introducing the alpha 350 digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera on March 7th.
It's an advanced version of Sony's alpha 100 introduced in July 2006.
The new camera has:
1. Live view function. The subject of the shot can be viewed through and LCD screen.
2. High-speed autofocusing. No 'freeze!' then shoot. Honey!
3. 14.2 megapixels. That sounds like a lot to me. The last I remember hearing was something like 3 or 5. Remember, I don't even qualify as a beginner yet, maybe ever, so that number might be off.
4. Image noise in the high-sensitivity mode has been significantly reduced. I'm not sure I even know what that is. Noise in a picture?
5. Anti-blurring capability is improved. Does this mean I'll get yelled at less?
6. Easy to make the switch from compact-type to camera-looking type.
7. Auto adjust when shooting against the sun, like its big brother the alpha 700.
So, I wonder what seasoned photographers do if the camera can do all these things.
The price - about Y90,000 ($800).
I guess I won't be buying one.
Is that a lot of money for a good camera?
