#1 The Japan-related Web: Introduction to Tori Johnson

I do not really like talking about myself that much (this series is really more about you, not me) but Bill  asked me to introduce myself, so here goes:

My name is Tori Johnson. I am one of the founders of Nipponster.com - a search tool that gives only Japan-related results – and the blogger behind DailyJ.net.

I started building websites related to Japan while studying at Sophia University in Tokyo. I started because I was a bit overwhelmed (like many are) by the difficulties of trying to live/succeed as a foreigner in Japan and I wanted to make

things a little easier for others. I do not know if we are succeeding at Nipponster but we are definitely trying.nipponster.gif

Both Nipponster and DailyJ focus on spearheading different projects to help people (with an interest in Japan - we call them Japan-enthusiasts) find the Japan-related information they need, faster.

I believe that communication and collaboration between webmasters (and between webmasters and their readers) is the key to better Japan-related content on the web.

So, I am very grateful and excited that Bill has given me the chance to guest blog here on RisingSunOfNihon and chat with all of you!

Editor's note - Very glad to have you here at RSON, Tori.

» Post #1 of “The Japan-related Web” guest blogging series on Rising Sun of Nihon from Daily J
And so it begins… As I mentioned earlier, Bill from Rising Sun Of Nihon has invited me to use his blog as a platform where we can all come together and discuss the Japan-related web! This will be a month long guest blog series. I am going to be p... [Read More]

Hi All,
Me again. I've introduced myself, now it is time for all of you to introduce yourselves by commenting here.

Remember this is your chance to discuss and be heard.

Tori,
I, too, hope other readers will weigh in with their thoughts.

I'm looking forward to what you have to share and to learning, helping make the web experience better for those of us who have a heart for Japan.

As an owner of a small English School in Japan, I have been very surprised to see how few in the same position have a blog?

Hi Chris!
There are bloggers who talk about their experiences with Eikaiwa companies but I don’t see many bloggers talking about their classes, students and the fun things they are doing like you do.

But did you know that Bill here at RisingSunOfNihon owns (owned?) his own English school too? He writes a series on ESL in Japan.

See? When bloggers start talking all kinds of connections pop-up :)

Yes the 101 ideas is cool and I have read just a few of them so far. I plan on going through it all at some point.

Thanks for the look out!!!

No problem Chris,

I'm always thinking about you guys and looking out for helpful connections.
