
Of all the categories of the Japan-related web that we have scrutinised, e-commerce is one that I had qualms with. (that is mainly because these sites do not have any content).
How so?
No matter what form of advertisements one uses on a Japan-related site (banners, affiliate links, etc.) the actual advertisers are likely going to be Japan-related.
Even Google AdSense will probably display ads from Japan-related advertisers (based on your website
Since your advertisers are Japan-related e-commerce sites your revenue depends on them (and their revenue depends on you).
So what kinds of e-commerce sites are out there?
What affiliate programs do they have and do J-sites know how to effectively use them?

Here are some common forms of advertisement I see on Japan-related sites:
http://jlist.com (goods from Japan. affiliate program)
http://meta4-group.com (personals/matchmaking through their WorldFriendsNetwork. they give you your own personals network for your site. Think J-site name + "friens." They are everywhere)
- Hotels & Travel services. There are a number of advertisers out there. http://Asiarooms.com is an example.
Japan-related ecommerce sites with affiliate programs. There are too many to list. One that comes to mind is
http://YesAsia.com
