
Both automakers will invest to expand production in Thailand to make the eco-cars at a rate of around 100,000 units a year starting as early as 2010....if the plans are approved.
Bangkok has tax breaks plans for automakers who's cars and plans meet specific requirements.

3. plans to make at least 100,000 units a year.
Mitsubishi Motors intends to invest around Y20 billion yen to produce the eco-cars.
Toyota will invest around Y17 billion.
Both automakers may construct dedicated facilities to produce the vehicles in Thailand.
Honda Motor Co., Suzuki Motor Corp. and Nissan Motor Co. already have approval from Thailand for their eco-car production plans.
Those three will begin making the cars as soon as 2010.
80% of the cars will be exported from Thailand.
India's Tata Motors Ltd. and Germany's Volkswagen AG also have submitted eco-car plans submitted and are awaiting approval.
