
Honda Motor Co. intends to increase motorcycle output capacity at a Brazilian plant by more than 30% by 2009.
The increase will bring annual production to roughly 2 million units.
The automaker will:
1. expand existing facilities
2. add production lines at its plant in northern Brazil.
3. boost parts fabrication capabilities.

Exports of 125-150cc motorbikes to Colombia and other South American nations will also be stepped up.
The Brazilian motorcycle market has grown since the new millenium.
This year total demand is up 24% to 1.6 million units.
Annual growth is anticipated to be around 20%.
Honda has roughly an 80% market share in Brazil, and growing.
