Japan has money to waste in efforts to save the Asian environment.

Japan plans on:
1. offering $2 billion in financial assistance to combat air, water, and other pollution. How about noise pollution with the words global warming in them?
2. creating a low-carbon society
3. conserving rich and diverse nature ( so far so good)
4. promoting global warming education. (will Lindzen be invited to speak?)
5. launching a satellite in 2008 to monitor forests in Asia
6. training 500 people from countries in the region on proper waste management and environmental protection
It's good to see Japan take the lead on something they believe in. But, why not take the lead in something that matters?
Remember Kyoto protocol and how many industrialized nations, including Japan, that cannot meet the objectives?
Speaking of which.
Since Japan cannot meet its own objectives it plans to buy greenhouse gas emission quotas from Hungary for Y20 billion.
That'll do it. When the country realizes the Kyoto protocol goals are unrealistic, they try to buy their way out of it.
Is that reasonable?
