About 80% of the drivers caught drunk in Japan knew the laws were tougher than they had been.
Still, 40% of the drivers felt confident cops wouldn't catch them.
Yeah, judgement does get impaired when you have had a few, eh?
Okay, make that a couple.
Well, alright. Just one.
The year end is party season in Japan....much like elsewhere. Bonenkais everywhere.
The police plan to get even tougher.
And drunks...well, they are sure to be more and more stupid.
Most drivers caught drunk had been drinking alone (59%).
About one in four (28%) had been drinking with friends; 6% with colleagues from work.
Half or about 54% had been drinking at a pub.
One in seven (14%) drank at home before going out to get caught by police.
Almost one in five (17.6%) had misjudged that they had sobered up enough.
Wrong!
Do you plan to drink and drive this season?
I hope you get caught....alive.
