A WWII Battlefront postcard was delivered after 64 years....which is why Japan Post is going to go private, or at least a contributing factor.
A Japanese soldier mailed the postcard from a Southeast Asian battlefront and a university student delivered it this weekend.
An 80-year old retiree in Japan's southwest prefecture of Kochi was the recipient.
The card went to Nagasaki, Arizona, Hawaii, the moon probably and well...finally to its destination.
The card was mailed from Burma.![]()
An American collected the card in Nagasaki during the time of the U.S. occupation, then kept it in his home until he died 39 years later.
His son took the card to Hawaii and gave the letter to a Japanese exchange student.
The student delivered the card to its intended recipient after returning to Japan.
The check in the mail that hasn't arrived yet....I SENT THAT, dang it. Wait a half century, it'll show up.
