Toyota Quality Takes a Hit - 470,000 Vehicles Recalled

by BBelew57 on October 17th, 2007

Toyota Motors' quality has taken a hit.

470,000 vehicles in Japan were recalled because of engine, steering and motor problems.

Gosh, what else could go wrong?

Toyota is trying to grow…expand = sell more.

But, growing too fast means growing quality problems.

"Toyota has faced an increasing numbers of recalls in recent years, partly due to its effort to cut costs by using the same parts across different models."

Toyota's Crown sedan had an engine problem.

It's VITZ compact also has an engine problem - stall and not restart.toyota.recall.jpg

The bB vehicle has a steering shaft problem.

Toyota wants to make history of GM's 30-year record by selling 10.4 million cars in 2009…and Toyota wants to do it with Toyota quality.

For now, the company needs to back up .470 million.

Toyota and GM are headlight to headlight in the race for number one in sales this year.

Does it matter if Toyota is number one or not? Or is quality more important?
