Sony Knocks Off $100 from PS3 Price in the US
Sony Corp's PS3 was overpriced by at least $100. The company knocked that much off the $599 price tag of its 80GB version…17%.
A $399 40GB model is also available.
Sony is pulling out all the stops to compete with Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming systems.
The Wii is outselling the PS3 two-to-one.
The holiday season is approaching and Sony wanted/needed some action on its game console.
The $399 version gets a free Blu-ray version of "Spider Man" highlighting the movie playing capability of the console.
Sony had already cut prices in Japan and Europe.
There's a whole lot of people who might be wishing they had waited….or not.
