In Cleveland, the big news is Country Singer Danielle Peck and the Indians playing one-upmanship on Josh Beckett and the Red Sox.
In Japan, it's a mechanical pitcher that can throw a ball at 200 kph (125 mph) almost fast enough to catch a Shinkansen (bullet train). Imagine a train going by at 100 mph and then throwing a ball at it and catching it!
When the machine let's go, it takes 0.3 seconds to reach the plate.
In a 15-pitch session, barely one in five can even touch the ball, much less hit it back into play.
Yokohama BayStars have an ex-MLB ball player who threw the fastest pitch ever in
Japan, Mark Klune, who threw the ball at 161kph (100mph)..the fastest ever in Japanese professional baseball.
If the Indians had a pitcher who could throw as fast as this pitching machine, it wouldn't matter what Josh Beckett did, or Danielle Peck either for that matter.
But, then who would do the catching?
