The Blue Man Group will add Tokyo to its list of seven cities that it has performed in across the globe.
The group will get its own special dedicated theater in Tokyo's Roppongi district and performances will start on Dec. 1st.
The Blue Man Group started in the late 1980s, turned blue from the neck up in 1991.
The secret to their international appeal -
1. No lines in any language...Japanese don't need to know English to enjoy their performance
2. Audience participation - actors walk into the seats and invites watchers to onto the stage
3. Artistic appeal - metal barrels, splashing water, illumination, back-up music
Matt Goldman, one of the original Blue Men will be taking the group to Tokyo to "incorporate Japanese pop culture, animation and technology into our show, making it a Tokyo-exclusive performance."
