
Monday was Japan's Respect for the Aged day.
Tomoji Tanabe may be deserving of the most respect.
He turned 112-years old today.
He took the title from Emiliano Mercado Del Toro of Puerto Rico who died in January of this year at the age of 115.
Tanabe says he would like to live "indefinitely."![]()
Tanabe used to work as city land surveyor and now lives with his son and daughter-in-law.
He is good health, drinks milk, keeps a diary, avoids alcohol and does not smoke.
Japanese Centenarians Top 30,000 and Japan has more than 7 Million Over 80-years old.
