Sony PS3 Catching Up to Nintendo’s Wii?
In June, Nintendo's Wii outsold Sony's PS3 by a six-to-one margin. In July PS3 was outsold by a four-to-one margin.
Last month Nintendo sold 245,653 Wii units and Sony sold 81,541 PS3 units…that's three-to-one.
The PS3 has been trailing the Wii due to price and a scarcity of game titles …but…sooner or later everyone that has a Wii will have one and by then,
Sony will have enough titles/games to start playing catch up.
"Gran Turismo 5" will go on sale in October. A PS3 demand is expected to follow.
Microsoft sold just 11,288 Xbox 360s in August.
Just? What's 11,288 x $300?
Sony doesn't need to catch up with the Nintendo. Sony just needs to recoup his development expenses. It will. It will just take a bit longer than Sony planned.
Are you going to buy a PS3?
