It used to be that violence on the screen was blamed for the actions of people who watched and may have imitated it.
In Japan...there is one incidence of the opposite.
The anime "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai" has a scene where in which a girl wields an ax. However, recently a 16-year old girl attacked and killed her policemen father with, you guessed it,...an ax.
Japanese company 07th Expansion introduced the visual novel computer video
game at Japan's Comic Market convention. However, Tokai TV's public relations division said that as a result of a complaint by a viewer the anime will not be shown on Tokai Television Broadcasting Co. (Tokai TV).
"Chiba Television Broadcasting Corp. and other broadcasters cancelled the final episode of the anime "School Days," which depicts a schoolgirl in a murder scene."
So...is it the movie world that is influencing the actions of viewers or is it really the other way around...real life giving fodder for movies?
