Nippon Television Network Corp figures people might as well waste time in the virtual world, too.
NTV will launch a television program to be entirely recorded in the Second Life three-dimensional virtual land.
Popular spots in Second Life will be featured.
Images will be sent in by viewers.
The host and guests will be avatars (digital characters).
And, 24's Jack Bower will save Prison Break's Michael from being reimprisoned.
NTV's aim is to use the virtual world as a new medium to communicate with
viewers = a new way to make money.
Shiodome Island has a studio and a space for holding events within Second Life.
Real-life TV news programs will be broadcast as well as events hosted on the island.
And in yet another world, people will sit around a talk about characters and lost football games while eating virtual breakfasts together at men's and women's morning prayer meetings.
