The employment for life is a myth anymore in Japan.
Last year, the domestic temporary staffing market jumped 40% from the previous year to 3.5 trillion yen ($30 billionish).
Japanese companies, with workers in short supply, have turned to temporary staffing services to hire workers to cope with the economic upturn. (Thanks, China!)
Deregulation of the industry was also a contributer.
Staffing agencies that focus on back-office jobs saw a deline in their market shares but posted higher revenues.
