Market Share: Top 5 Frozen Food Companies in Japan
The Japanese population may be shrinking, but the people are eating more…frozen food that is.
Frozen foods, including imports, that were shipped in Japan rose 2.2% to 928.6 billion yen ($8 billionish).
Each Japanese person consumed on average 21.1 kg of (45lbs) of frozen foods…up 2.9%.
Japanese eat noodles, croquettes, fried fish (frozen?) and so on.
Third ranked Nichiro helped thaw the lead of the two companies in front of it in terms of market share by introducing products that can be put out in the morning, thawed out by lunch time and ready to eat without cooking.
