
Three Japanese PC makers unveiled new computer models for the fall-winter shopping season.
NEC Corp. will debut an all-in-one LCD desktop that supports both Blu-ray disc and HD DVD formats. It is the first desktop to be compatible with both rival technologies.
Fujitsu Ltd. will add a PC that can be connected to flat-panel TVs. It will be
Blue-ray compatible and users will be able to record up to six hours of HDTVSony Corp will add five PC models that support Blu-ray technology making it 17 models that can. Desktop models will allow users to easily edit videos shot on digital cameras.
Toshiba Corp. meanwhile has launched three notebook computers that support HD DVDs. Toshiba will eventually offer entry-level PCs with HD DVD-compatible drives.
