
Honda Motor Co. started construction in Saitama, right out side of Tokyo, on its first new domestic assembly plant in almost 30 years.
Honda will improve production efficiency by outfitting the plant with state-of-the-art equipment.

The new facility will be an export base for Honda's low-emission diesel engine cars.
Operation will being in 2010, with 2,000 employees rolling out 20,000 cars.
The price tag - 70 billion ($600 millionish).
