Yasuo Fukuda will be Japan's new Prime Minister as soon as they vote him in tomorrow.
The Prime Minister has already begun laying out some key policy issues -
1. more consultation with the Democratic Party of Japan - the DPJ controls the House of Councillors
2. he wants to extend the Maritime Self-Defense Force mission to refuel U.S. military vessels in the Indian Ocean - America said 'whew!'
3. he wants to reform the pension system starting with identifying the 50 million
people affected by the lost records
4. he hinted at raising the 5% consumption tax - and nobody is going to like that.
How much difference does a PM make to the everyday lives of the people in Japan?
