Toyota Eyes Yet More Growth
Toyota Motor Corp. realizes it must do more in Europe, China and other Asian markets if the company wants to continue to grow.
The Japanese market may be saturated and more and more Japanese are turning to smaller cars or opting to not have one altogether as I pointed out in Japanese Twenty Somethings Drink Less, Drive Less, Save More.
Toyota still has plenty of opportunity to grow in Asia, especially China and India.
The spearhead will be the IMV strategic
Toyota expects increased sales in China, India, Brazil, is Ready to Expand in Indonesia and elsewhere and has lifted output capacity, for example in Thailand.
Toyota is also developing a subcompact that it can sell for around 700,000 ($6200).
India will see the car first in about three years.
In Europe…Toyota's hybrid is the car of choice.
Toyota aims to sell 10.4 million cars in 2009.
My bet is that Toyota will sell more.
