Toshiba Corporation (USA) (Public, OTC:TOSBF)
unveiled a range of high-definition LCD televisions with USB data ports that will allow viewers to connect them to hard disk drives and record their favorite programs.
The Regza TV series will be launched next month in time for the year-end sales season.
The Regza Z models can store 83 hours of high-definition broadcasts.
(the only thing I can think of that would be worse
than watching 83 hours of television would be to have to watch it two times...but, that's me.)The externall hard-disk drive is a 750-gigabyte device and programs can be saved on up to eight such devices.
Does that mean 8 x 83 hours?
Toshiba will also launch its largest LCD TV set - a 57-inch model...going for about $8,000.
Gee...I wonder what I do NOT want for Christmas.
(Honey, are you reading?)
