Japan's top wrestler, Asashoryu, is depressed and heading home for some good cheer...and maybe a soccer match, friendly or otherwise.
It was playing soccer that got him in trouble from the get go.
Asashoryu secretly returned home to Mongolia after he skipped an official exhibition tour in Japan, because of health reasons - injuries.
However, while home in Mongolia, he was filmed playing
soccer.Indeed...I don't know why Japan's sumo association has their underwear all tied in a knot. I would think they'd be happy that the world could see their wrestlers can do other things besides, sweat, push, sweat, fall, sweat, grunt and sweat.
No?
Asashoryu is one of the most recognizable athletes in Japan. He has been suspended for two tournaments and recently had a meltdown.
He has been given permission to go home to treat his stress disorder.
Nobody...wants to deal with a sumo wrestler in a bad mood, I suppose.
Do you think the JSA is unreasonably hard on Asashoryu because he is NOT Japanese? Or is Asashoryu really just a sissy?
