Dom Perignon Champagne - $110,000 a bottle
The Matsuzakay Department Store in Nagoya will sell five of the 100 bottles available worldwide of 1995 (regarded as a good year) Dom Perignon champagne.
I wonder what the cost for a poor year is. Or, an excellent year?
The bottles are 3 liter (.70 gallon) and go for 1.26 million yen ($110,000).
Japan will get to sell (try to sell) 20 bottles total.
One of the bottles has already been sold. To
me.
Yeah, right.
The price comes out to about $1,000/oz.
So, what size are champagne classes? 3-4 oz? That's $3,000-$4,000 a glass.
What would you like to tip a glass to with 4-5 friends for $12k-$20k?
It'd better be some very serious event, no?
