3,500 artists create world’s longest painting in Japan
Around 3,500 people in Japan worked together to create the world's longest painting - a compilation of natural scenery and trains.
The painting is 50 cm (1.8') wide and 4,663 meters (2.8 miles) long.
The group of painters spent 34 days working on 100s of pieces of paper, each 25 meters long and 50 cm wide.
The new painting is 800 meters (1:40 sec) around the track for the
world's fastest mid-distance runner, longer than the old longest painting.
That same mid-distance runner would take 13+ minutes to pass in front of the whole painting without having time to take a look.
The more pertinent question - where they going to hang it?
Why are people so intent on setting such ridiculous world records?
And, is there a world record for meaningless world records?
