4 Million Found in Men’s Rooms Throughout Japan
Most of thing to make a deposit of some sort when we enter the men's room….us guys that is.
Nobody knows except the women folk what goes on in a women's room…or, why it takes so long for it to happen.
Somebody or somebodies has been leaving packages of 10,000 yen notes ($82) this week in men's toilets throughout Japan…4 million yen worth ($33,000ish).
Most of the bills had a cryptic note attached - "Please use them for disciplining."
Discipline what? who? Don't know.
Money has been found in toilets at local government offices in 18 prefectures throughout Japan.
The governments have turned the money over to the police who will hold on to it for six months to see if
anyone claims it. If not…it goes to the finders.
Am I the only one who finds it a mark of Japanese integrity that on at least 18 occasions within one week, the Japanese have returned 4 million yen that they found and knew wasn't theirs.
I once left a couple of bank books and some money in a folder in a frozen food section at a supermarket by accident. A few hours later when I returned to look for it…it was still…cold hard cash and my bank books. Still there.
