Takeru 'Tsunami' Kobayashi is not in a laughing mood.
When it was suggested by some ESPN host who, no doubt, couldn't eat his way out of wet Krystal Hamburger bag, that he is sandbagging it, that his complaints about his mouth hurting are a ploy to get chief American challenge, Joey Chestnut, to be more complacent, […]

Next year, parties to the Kyoto Protocol are supposed to cut greenhouse gas.
So far, 60 industry organizations which belong to Japan's largest business organization, Keidanren, are participating. Of those, 35 have set numerical targets.
Ten more organizations have decided to participate in the project…with a little egging on from the national government.
Among them are:

I have two sons. Both compete and both have won in their chosen fields.
One son is a swimmer. The clock tells him whether he won, placed or has to train harder.
The other son is a musician, a classical pianist. The judges decide based on their feelings, impressions, interpretation of crowd reaction, blah, blah, blah.
The first […]

I admit…I don't know anything.
I would NEVER have imagined that a mega sandwich would be a hit in Japan, unless it was Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi eating it as part of his warm up for the Nathan's Hot Dog Contest.
Still, the 754 calorie, 45.9 grams of fat Mega Mac was such a big hit in […]

Seven & I Holdings are based in Tokyo. The company is the parent company to the 7-Eleven stores in the United States, too.
In 2005, the Japanese company turned the U.S. chain into a wholly-owned subsidiary.
However, they had not put much effort into the U.S. stores….until now.
Seven & I will invest 300 billion yen ($2.4 billion) […]

NTT DoCoMo Inc has been given lessons on how to count.
2-in-1 means one with two, NOT two.
DoCoMo has a new service will allows single cellular phones to have two numbers and two email address.
The company counts them as two subscribers. Meaning…when DoCoMo logged 82,700 new subscribers in May they didn't consider that about 10,000 of […]

There was an 80-year old man who cycled across Japan, then was killed by a truck on the final stretch.
A man in London drove a bus for 30 years. On his last day at work he drove his white Ford Escort van home when a bus travelling in the opposite direction collided with him and […]

I wrote a year ago that Honda will Make an SUV sized vehicle that goes 1300 Miles without refueling.
Construction began today on the factory that will produce the vehicle in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Honda will build a ultra efficient jet that goes 1300 miles between fill ups. It carries 6-8 passengers - 8 Japanese and 6, […]
