Why I Don’t Like Soccer

I was once told that the reason soccer is the most popular sport in the world is because it is the most natural game that kids will play.

Put a ball in a room and send a kid in…the first thing to happen is he or she will kick it.

Makes sense…but it's still boring. And, now it's also deadly.

A junior high school boy was hit in the chest by a soccer ball during a game at school.

A few moments later he headed a ball and then went down.

Three of 10 junior high schools in the boy's hometown happened to have installed automated external defibrillators.

Alas…he went to one of the other seven.

The nurse, principal, teachers, school workers all performed artificial resuscitation and a heart massage on the teen but the youngster didn't make it.

Kick the ball…yes. Let it hit me in the chest and knock the breath out of me…no. Let it hit me in the head and knock the sense and life out of me…not in my lifetime.

Watch World Cup Soccer? Never.
