3 Reasons why the average Japanese household income is at a 17-year LOW
Japan's average household income is down to a 17-year low. 56.3% of people surveyed are also saying its making it tough to make ends meet.
In 2005, the average Japanese household brought in 5.64 million ($48Kish depending on the yen rate.)
Some reasons:
1. The number of elderly households with lower incomes![]()
2. Smaller nuclear families.
3. Single-person households were also at a record high.
Elderly people have only their pensions to live on, and single people cannot add their income to their partner. If the number of people in those two groups are growing, then the few that are left in the middle must be making a killing to keep the average at $50Kish, no?
How many people are working in your household?
