3 Differences between Japanese and American Companies

by BBelew57 on May 29th, 2007

In this day and age it is tough to generalize. And if there is one thing that is ALWAYS true, it is that there are ALWAYS exceptions.

And the number of exceptions are growing.

Still here are three basic differences between American and Japanese companies.

1. Japanese have a system of lifetime employment. American companies employe workers on a contract basis - usually annually.

2. Japanese workers are promoted according to length of service. American workers are promoted usually on merit.

3. Japanese workers belong to company unions. American workers belong to industrial unions.

What other differences can you think of between Japanese companies and the companies in your country?
