Guns in Japan - another ‘nuclear bomb’ in Nagasaki
It has been more than 60 years since the US dropped the second nuclear bomb on Nagasaki.
Another bomb has been dropped. In 'gunless' Japan, the Nagasaki Mayor was shot in front of JR Nagasaki Station.
He is in critical condition and his heart and lungs are not working.
The shooter is a member of an affiliate of Japan's largest underworld syndicate, Yamaguchi-gumi.![]()
The motive for the shooting…the Nagasaki Municipal Government did not take action when the shooter's car was damaged after falling into a construction hole two years prior.
17 years earlier, another Nagasaki mayor was shot by a right winger in Japan.
So, where did the yakuza get these guns?

I think it’s a “bit” easier (and expected) that yakuza and other mafia-type organizations will have access to guns, regardless of government policy.
The question is, how can a young man get guns so easily? And these particular types of guns?
I point you to an interesting take on the issue:
