Equally sad....perhaps moreso...I was eating lunch with a Japanese friend. She told me that a very close friend of her daughter (16-years very young) committed suicide a couple of days ago.
The little girl's parents went through a divorce. She opted to live with her father who remarried rather quickly. Step-mom and and step daughter couldn't get along.
Real father offered no support.
The little girl was found hanging in her bedroom.
My wife remarked - if someone is brave enough to take their life, they should be brave enough to continue to live it.
Apparently not.
