Olympus Corp. will release a new compact digital camera in March that has an industry-leading 18X optical zoom.
A special lens gives the camera a focal distance of 28mm to 504mm with increased zoom power, a wider focal distance without making the lens larger.
The camera can also shoot as many as 15 sequential frames in one second! Is it a camera or video?
The flash will illuminate objects 22.7 meters away. 
The ISO sensitivity can be set to 5000 for less blur.
Olympus will make 30,000 units of the Camedia SP-550UZ for sale in Japan and overseas....unit price 55,000 yen.
I know almost nothing about cameras...okay, make that nothing. But, my wife was a photographer in her fashion design days. She tells me this camera is really something.
