Mob Boss Found Dead
One of the top godfathers in Japan was found shot, in an apparent suicide, by one of his cronies who had brought him breakfast.
The godfather, 70, was head of the Kokusai gang which is controlled by Japan's largest Yamaguchi syndicate.
Police had been probing the godfather's connection in a string of recent shootings in a turf war between Yamaguchi and Tokyo-based Sumiyoshi.![]()
The two mobs had reached a ceasefire.
The godfather seems to have reached a conclusion as well…he didn't want to go to jail.
Many companies/individuals find the Japanese yakuza a necessary evil when they want to make an offer that can't be refused…in a real estate transaction or business proposal.
The yakuza often deliver the terms and get the deal done…but with a price, of course. There will always be a time for payback…an inconvenient time.
What do you think of yakuza involvement in business?
