"While adhering to the principles of the Constitution, the Japanese will no longer shy away from carrying out overseas activities involving the SDF," said Japan's PM Abe at a North Atlantic Council meeting.
Abe also wants NATO to work with Japan on the North Korean issue and the PM stressed that Japan and China need to work in close cooperation to stabilize the security situation in East Asia = North Korea.
It is the first time for a Japanese PM to speak at NATO.
Australian PM called Bush's plan "very clear, calm and above all, realistic."
South Korea also pledged support for Bush.
