Demand for solar panels is increasing in Japan as it is in Germany and other parts of Europe.
Sanyo will invest 1-2 billion yen to convert the plant with the goal of assembly capacity equal to 40 megawatts a year.
Output for solar capacity for solar cells will be boosted by 260% over the next four years.
Sanyo's Hungary plant will raise its panel capacity by 80%.
I once calculated that a solar panel about the size of California or Japan would be needed in order to generate/catch enough sun rays to supply energy to the world.
Somehow, it seems doable to me....though, not all in one place.
