Toray Industries Inc. has developed a new kind of high-peformance plastic that behaves the same as rubber. When crashed or jolted, it absorbs shocks by deforming instead of cracking. The practical applications of the material - automobile bumpers, casings for electric products and such is hoped to be ready within three years. The new plastic is as strong as high-impact nylon, yet stays intact by deforming to absorb impacts when hit hard enough. So, can the product be used to make toys that are unbreakable? Nothing...nothing...is totally kid proof. What do you think?
