Sony Corp said it found a defect in its popular Cyber-shot compact digital camera.
Of course, they will repair it for free...and hope like the dickens it won't amount to some 10s of millions in count.
Eight different Cyber-shot models sold between 03-05 in Japan and overseas may be affected.
Last October Sony had similar problems with 20 other digital camera models.![]()
Sony has also fallen behind in flat panel TVs, portable music players and DVD recorders.
So, what's this have to do with the PS3?
Sony must rely much more so now on sales of the new PS3 to pull the company out of its funk.
But...as is well known, the company is deep in the hole on R & D for the PS3, doesn't have enough units to sell in Japan or the States and Europe is on hold till next Spring.
There is an awful lot riding on a new toy that cost too much and there aren't enough of to go around.
Can Sony come out of this?
What do you think?
