
Private collectors, private museums and Buddhist temples contributed about 100 items to the party.
Visitors can see a mummified mermaid, a gigantic eyeball and the remains of a long-nosed, red-faced flying demon (tengu).
I think, I can probably see most of these alive in downtown San Francisco this coming Halloween weekend.
Tthe museum says they but the items in the exhibition under cutting edge X-rays, took photos and analyzed results to determine the authenticity of their museum creatures.
OOOoooo....and just in time for Halloween, too.
There really are monsters in Japan, you know?
No doubt, the museum is also enjoying the increased business, too.
