It seems Japanese cars are determined to be at or near the top, no matter what.
Toyota passed up Ford in monthly sales last month for the first time ever. Soon, Toyota will drive past GM as the number one car maker in sales.
There is another category in which Japan ranks at the top.
Japan has the most cars in the top 10 stolen car list, with six cars in the top nine.
The Acura Integra, '01, '97, '96, '95, '99 and '98 are all in the top 10.
It seems that illegal street racers - stealing, btw, is also illegal, like to swap the powerful Integra engine into a lighter Honda Civic and then ZZzzooommm!
Most thefts take place in the coastal states where illegal street racing is more popular.
Interesting enough, it is much more expensive to buy the parts of the cars than the whole car. I reckong people don't want to mess with taking it apart, but don't mind putting the cars back together.
The number one most stolen car is a '01 BMW M-series Roadster with 1 in 200 being stolen.
The good thing of me is that nobody messes with my '97 Corolla.
