China is not the only country that is spreading good will throughout Asia.
Japan is trying to buddy up with Vietnam.
In the past three years, Japanese business investment in Vietnam has quadrupled.
Japan is also Vietnam's largest offical development assistance (ODA) supplier.
With 654 operational projects and a combined registered capital of nearly $7 billion, Japan, indeed, is interested in Vietnam.
Recently there was a Vietnam-Japan business forum with more than 400 Vietnamese and Japanese business representatives present from the more 654 registered ongoing projects.
Japan's State Minister, Iwao Matsuda, affirms that Vietnam has:
1. socio-political stability
2. high-quality and intensive labor force
3. attraction as an investment destination for Japanese.
Now that Vietnam has joined the WTO, it needs the help of the likes of Japan to develop its economy, improve trade, increase tourism and attract more investment.
Japan is one of Vietnam's best friends. It's a good thing when countries work together for the benefit of one another.

Both Vietnam and China are communist countries, and Vietnam is also closer with China in geographics, economics and culture aspects than with Japan or US. In some sense, China-Vietnam relationship is like US-Mexico relationship. Mexican leaders must be crazy if they want to invade US, same thing for the Vietnamese to China.
