Japan Spends Money Overseas on R & D

Japan doesn't just make money overseas. Japan spends money, too.

Since 1998, Japan has spent more than 1.86 trillion yen = $18 billion on research and development overseas.

The biggest year for contributing to R & D was 2002.

There was a company nearby my home when I was in Japan that was notorious for outright stealing other company's ideas and making 'knock-offs'. They made a bundle at it, too.

But, not all of Japan is that way.

I wonder how much other Asian countries spend on R & D overseas?

What do you think?
